    Bisso Atanassov was born on July 4th 1968 in Varna, Bulgaria and since 1989 he has been living in Moscow, Russia. Bisso has a Master degree in economics from the Moscow State University of International Relations (MGIMO), bachelor degree in civil law from Collège Universitaire Français (MGU, Moscow) and a Master degree in viticulture and oenology from Vinifera-Euromaster programme of the EMaVe Consortium (Montpellier – Turin, thesis to be defended in February 2011). Involved with wine since the year 2000. He has worked as import and development director for a major wine importer in Russia (Fort Ltd.) and development project director for another big importer (Simple Ltd.). Since 2005 he has been the news editor and member of the editors’ board of the biggest wine magazine in Russia - Simple Wine News (30 000 copies, 10 times per year). Bisso Atanassov also writes for several wine and life style editions in Russia, Bulgaria, France, Switzerland & UK, he is one of the few ITB bloggers in Russia. Member of FIJEV. He is also a lecturer at “Enotria” - the only ASI certified sommelier school in Russia (Moscow), where he lectures Wines of the New World, Wines of Greece and Economics of Wine. He has been twice a judge at the Thessaloniki International wine competition (in 2007 & 2009). Bisso Atanassov has worked 5 harvests in Chile, Barolo, South Africa, Languedoc and Douro (Portugal). In 2010 he has been appointed Ambassador of Greek wine in Russia. Married, has a daughter.
