Toronto, CANADA, January 25, 2018 – The Independent Wine Education Guild (IWEG) and Wines of Greece are pleased to announce a one-year partnership agreement to increase the understanding and enjoyment of Greek wines among industry professionals in Ontario.
Under the agreement, an exclusive Master Class on Greek wines will be presented at IWEG on May 4, 2018, highlighting the different facets of Greece as an energetic wine producing country, one of the most dynamic in the world,
which is re-inventing classics and exploring possibilities of up-coming grape varieties, and new terroirs or unique winemaking techniques.
Additionally, in July a top-performing IWEG student in WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits from the academic year 2017-2018 will receive a Study Scholarship from Wines of Greece for WSET Level 3 Award in Wines at IWEG. Also, an “Educate The Educators” programme will be offered at IWEG for wine educators in 2018. “Supporting the education, growth and development of current and future wine retail and trade professionals in Ontario is a top priority for Wines of Greece,” said Sofia Perpera, Director, Greek Wine Bureau-North America. “We are thrilled to partner with IWEG and foster a greater understanding of Greece’s dynamic contributions to the wine world while enriching the student learning experience.”
