New Wines of Greece had a leading role at the unique wine tasting event taking place during the famous Nobu Food festival, which took place from July 20 to July 28, at the Matsuhisa Mykonos of Belvedere Hotel.

Saturday July 21st, the award-winning star chef Nobuyuki (Nobu) Matsuhisa with the Executive chef from Nobu Dubai, Herve Courtot, created a unique scenery, where the minimalist Japanese aesthetic was succesfully paired with excellent quality Greek wines, under the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Mykonos.

Greek spirit was widely inspired during this year’s Nobu Food Festival at Mykonos, and all participants had the chance to match the unique, fanciful creations of Nobu Matsuhisa with selected ambassador labels of New Wines of Greece, composing a mosaic of colors, aromas and flavors. Unique indigenous grape varieties, like Assyrtiko, Malagousia and Agiorgitiko highlighted the characteristic wonderful and almost surgical precision adopted by Nobu Chef as far as the combinations of materials is concerned, offering all attendees the utmost dining experience.

The food and wine pairing during the special wine tasting event, was supervised by Nikolas Yiannopoulos, the head sommelier of Matsuhisa Mykonos of Belvedere Hotel, who has been awarded 2 Times as the Best Greek Sommelier & 2 Times as the Third Best Young Sommelier of the World. During the event, Nikolas Yiannopoulos stated: “We are very happy that New Wines of Greece participated in this year’s Nobu Food Festival at Mykonos. The excellent quality and the unique characteristiques of the wines served was definitely the point of intersection for all participants. We are even happier that the explosive tastes of Nobusan’s creations (san: courtesy title in Japanese) were successfully combined with the indeginous grape varietals, marking a new era for Greek wine.
