“New Wines of Greece” organize the 3rd Wine Symposium in Crete, on Friday June 1st, in the Knossos Royal Aldemar Hotel, around 25klm from Heraklion.

This prestigious annual event has evolved into a meeting point for Greek winemakers and wine professionals from Greece and abroad.
A great number of wine writters and journalists, wine bloggers, sommeliers, wine buyers and wine professionals from international markets, will attend the Sympossium.

The program of the symposium includes the presentation of the New Wines of Greece activities within the period 2009-2012, followed by conclusions and results, as well as the announcement of the maketing plan for 2013.
At the same time, wine experts invited from the U.S., Canada and Russia will have the chance to attend detailed seminars on indigenous Greek grape varietals, held by Konstantinos Lazarakis MW and Konstantinos Bakasietas, and taste unique, terroir driven Greek wines.

On the 2nd half of the Symposium, participants will enjoy a live cooking show by the hotel’s chef followed by a walk around tasting in an exquisite Cretan scenery at the hotel’s beach bar, where Wines of the Ambassador Labels and Wines of Crete will be available.

The symposium is organized by the National Interprofessional Organisation of Vine and Wine (EDOAO) and the Hellenic Foreign Trade Abroad (HEPO), with funds obtained under the Common Market Organization for Wine.
